​Mohamad Khairul Daim brings with him over 15 years of distinguished experience in the legal, Shariah, corporate governance and regulatory affairs portfolio.

 

He is a dual-qualified graduate from the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), he holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) (Hons) and Bachelor of Laws (Shariah) (LL.B_S) (Hons), reflecting a distinct integration of civil and Shariah legal training. His professional credentials include qualification as a Chartered Professional in Islamic Finance (CPIF) and Certified Shariah Advisor (CSA).

 

Khairul Daim began his career as an advocate and solicitor at one of Malaysia’s leading law firms, where he practised in capital and debt market, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate & commercial law.

He later joined a local Islamic insurance company, where he pioneered the organisation’s Shariah review function. He continued his professional journey at a leading MNC Islamic insurance company, initially as the qualified Shariah officer before being entrusted with expanded responsibilities, and in his last role, he led the Shariah, legal, regulatory affairs, and governance functions.

 

Khairul Daim complements his legal expertise with a keen business sense, playing a hands-on role in strategic planning, business growth initiatives, intermediary engagement, and product innovation, underscoring his ability to navigate and lead in both legal and commercial domains. His contributions to the industry were recognised when he received the Young Takaful Manager Award from the Malaysian Takaful Association in 2022.

 

He served briefly as Chief Executive Officer of a dynamic agency distributing family takaful products. Under his leadership, the agency rose to become a top-ranked agency in under a year, driven by a force of over 500 agents.

Khairul Daim is also actively involved in professional education and capacity building. He collaborates with industry bodies as a trainer, facilitator, and module reviewer in the areas of takaful, governance, legal, and regulatory compliance. His commitment to industry development is further reflected in his leadership roles, having served on the national council of a professional body and as a committee member in various industry bodies.
